Fancy painting in the Italian hills?

So, can you imagine spending a week in a private Umbrian estate. The 220 acres has wild boar and deer; honey buzzards fly overhead. The terrace is a riot of flowers, while the meadows buzz with insects. The sun is warm, but the hills give a cooling breeze.

Sounds good, doesn’t it?

You sit by the pool or on the terrace, a glass of local wine to hand and paint the chickens that are clucking nearby, or the dog dozing in the shade….. a scarlet geranium catches your painter’s eye…

Well next July, or 12-19 July to be precise, I will be leading a week’s painting holiday with Arte Umbria at Tenuta di Poggiolame. We will be painting animals and flowers in watercolour and I am full of ideas of how I will make it special – hopefully including a trip to a local dairy! There is masses to do for non-painting partners and it should be a hugely fun week.

Do take a look at their website and start saving now!
