Sold

This beautiful golden running fox is part of a small collection of running animals, inspired by my love of animals and that moment when you spot a fox running across the road in the headlights of your car.

Foxes in folklore are depicted as cunning, intelligent tricksters who outsmart humans, with prominent roles in Japanese Kitsune and Chinese Huli Jing shapeshifting spirits, and in British folklore as symbols of wit, mystery, and survival, celebrated in tales of the hunt and in classic literature like Aesop and Roald Dahl, reflecting a long-standing cultural association with adaptability and cleverness across diverse cultures.

The painting is 30x60cm on a thin edged canvas. It is painted in ink and watercolour and then finished with imitation gold leaf. The painting has been sealed with UV protective varnish and it is framed in a handmade wooden float frame to help it stand out. It is strung and ready to hang. I am able to frame in a natural wood, black or white frame of your choice.
