35x35cm watercolour on paper
I spent 18 months backpacking around Asia and South America in the early 90s. It was a family joke that I would end up with llama-farmer, but I didn’t. I did, however, return with a life long fondness for these grumpy animals. If you are not sure of the difference between llamas and alpacas, compare the size if possible. If you can’t do that, look at the ears – llamas really do have banana ears.
Living coral was the Pantone colour of the year when I painted this, so it seemed appropriate.
