These ancient birds fly over our house quite regularly, sometimes taking a detour to see if there is a tasty morsel in next door’s pond. The grey heron is a magnificent and welcome visitor.

This ones great, great grandfather was a pterodactyl and his grandfather was a high court judge. He sometimes dresses up in the wig and gown.

The S bend of their neck and the leisurely swoosh of their wing is a wonderful sight.

Painted in ink and watercolour on a birch cradle board, this has been finished with textured gold leaf and is presented in a black matte tray frame.
