These designer glass chopping boards are based on my original watercolour paintings. They are made from heat resistant, tempered glass. Not only are they elegant, they have the benefit of being hygienic, durable and easy to clean, while adding a splash of colour to your work space. Their surface prevents the absorption of liquids and odours, reducing the risk of bacteria growth and making them ideal for preparing raw foods. They are resistant to scratches, cracks and stains, to ensure long lasting beauty. Each has four non-slip silicone feet the avoid scratching your work top and to give a stable chopping surface. Because they are long lasting, they are likely to need less frequent replacing than plastic or wooden boards, so offer a sustainable solution. They are thin and easy to store, but why would you want to hide these when they are so pretty?
The chopping boards come in two finishes – textured (chinchilla) or smooth. So no doubt you are asking what’s the difference and which do you want? Both are beautiful and equally functional, so you can’t go wrong. The chinchilla is textured, so tends to catch the light more and items on it will slip less. The smooth is a sharper print and you will see more detail of the image. Please note the glass has a slight green tinge to it – that is simply the nature of the material. Take a look at the image of the two cow glass chopping boards together and also the close ups. The chinchilla is the top image, the smooth is the bottom. I think they are both lovely.
The glass chopping boards are made of tempered glass, but still need a little love and care. Because the image is printed on the underside, please do not clean in a dishwasher, as with time that will spoil the image. Please avoid using anything abrasive to clean the reverse side. To avoid risk of scratching, please do not use ceramic knives on this board. The glass chopping boards are printed at 190C – but to be safe I would advise not putting anything above 140C on them. They are not classed as a trivet for hot pans coming out the oven, rather they are classed as a ‘chopping’ board for food preparation. Of course you would be fine to put a hot plate of dinner or a cup of tea on them! Obviously, do not drop them or drop heavy items on the board.
Your order of the glass chopping board will be printed for you by a specialist printer based in Rochdale on demand, then shipped to you directly. Their turn around is usually very prompt, but please allow two weeks from order to delivery. If you are ordering at the peak time of the year eg Christmas, please do so in plenty of time. As I become aware of any cut off dates, I will update the website. The board will come direct to you, so should there be an issue, do get in touch immediately so that it can be rectified.
