Flying the nest: watercolour on paper

The fifth in my nest series, this painting celebrates the beauty and security of the nest, and in turn, the security of our homes. Made only of the materials the parent birds can find, the nest weathers storms and everything nature can throw at it, until the chicks hatch and eventually fledge.

It’s a beautiful symbol of the family and how together we can weather whatever comes our way.
