Eagle owl: watercolour on paper

Using ink and watercolour I wanted to capture the wonderful energy and focus of this owl.

I used by beloved homemade cola pen with Indian ink, to combine bold marks and fine lines, which were then veiled with soft watercolour. The amber eyes contrasted with the blue feathers, I thought.
