Work on paper
Watercolour is traditionally painted on paper and then framed to protect it. While it might have a reputation for being fragile, I’ve seen 17th century paintings looking like they were painted yesterday. A little care and the best materials go a long way.
While I like to push the boundaries of watercolour and also paint on wood and canvas, there is something beautiful about a piece of new blank watercolour paper waiting for the water and pigment to do their magic.
You will find birds, animals and the occasional landscape here – a celebration of the everyday miracles to reawaken your sense of wonder. They might relax you or put a joyful spring in your step. They will certainly make you smile.
